Our leadership academies challenge and empower Africa’s brightest young minds, preparing them to change business, government, and society.

Crucible’s academies impact beyond the classroom.

Each operates as an independent, locally governed non-profit, ensuring they remain responsive to their communities while benefiting from our continent-wide network.

Leadership academies

A strategic starting point

In 2023, Crucible searched for a city abundant with ambition and opportunity in which to build our first academy. Lusaka was the perfect choice.

What makes Zambia’s capital the ideal foundation?

  • a growing talent pool

  • a dynamic ecosystem of policymakers and entrepreneurs

  • a stable and welcoming environment for educational innovation

Lusaka is the proving ground for the Crucible model—and the starting point for a continent-wide network of schools.

Why Zambia?

A new chapter

in African leadership education

In February 2025, 28 students arrived at Crucible Lusaka—a new school where education is about real-world leadership in action.

Crucible Lusaka is the launchpad for a movement. Through curriculum that blends academic excellence, ethical leadership, and hands-on challenges, students are not just preparing for the future, but actively shaping it.
